i need to know if it has anything to do whether its alive or not in its capacity of absorbing heavy metals. eg. spirulina and lead. and which of these is better in lead absorption?

Heavy metals in web printing inks and solvents?
My husband works at a printing plant where they use a web press to print advertising inserts. Are there heavy metals in the inks, solvents and cleaners used in this industry, does anyone know? If not, how could we find out?
We are wondering because he often gets the chemicals/ink all over him and breathes them in all night long.
Material Safety Data sheets should be available for all chemicals used on site. They are often available on line from the manufacturers web sites. Modern inks used in 1st world countries probably wont contain heavy metals. They used to be used as colored pigments e.g. yellows, orange red were often made with lead and cadmium pigments. They are harmless however unless often eaten in moderate quantities which is highly unlikely. Modern colors use organic dyes & pigments.
Solvents & cleaners do not contain heavy metals.

Do heavy metals like Lead and Mercury stay in your body forever or do they eventually come out?
Hello,
I was wondering if heavy metals and toxins stay in your body permanently or do they are eventually come out? I’ve heard your body stores them with fat, if this is true do you loose the metals and toxins if you loose the fat?
Any information would be appreciated.

If you have any metal fillings I heard they realease mercury into your body.I know this sounds stupid but going in an infared sauna can help you detoxify.

I need some experiments to help test the presence of heavy metals like Lead etc.
Unless the water is very badly polluted, you have to have specialized equipment. The current levels in USA waters are far below what can be done with conventional chemical testing. In labs, the techniques AA, GFAA, ICP, and ICP-MS are used. Unless you have the aid of a commercial or college lab, this is not something that can be done as a school project.
is it true that heavy metals in ones body can cause thyroid problems?
are there tests for heavy metals? are there treatments for removal of heavy metals in ones body? what are the test? what are the treatments?

How can we sampling heavy metals?
this is a short story of whats happen:
Reports have been received from local residents that a battery manufacturing and recycling facility in a light industrial area has been discharging wash-down water waste which contains heavy metals from a large tank on the property onto the ground after hours. A small team of sampling staff are to go on-site and conduct the preliminary field program to obtain initial soil and groundwater quality information.
so how could i sample this?? and what equipments would i use ?
what are the safety requirements for the team (PPE) ??
and which containers should be suitable to take a sample?
PH meter for the water and a geiger counter for detecting metal in the soil.Most metals will emit a certain radiation level but will show low toxicity level as rain leaches the topsoil.Better sources to test would be nearby drainage or streams and canals especially if there is farmland nearby.Burning the soil off in the lab might give you an indication of metals found in the Periodic Table.
